The Chicago Rastafarians batters feasted on the Enterprise Trekkers pitching
at Minute Maid Field. The final score was a lop-sided 14 to 2.
Frank Menechino punished Enterprise with his bat. He hit a 'grand salami' to
the delight of his teammates (his 9th of the season) in the 3rd inning,
doubled scoring a run in the 5th inning and lashed a single plating a run in
the 6th inning. Chicago had 16 hits overall, while Enterprise had 9.
Tanyon Sturtze(2-2) went 7 innings allowing 2 runs for the victory. Mike
Hampton(7-13) absorbed the loss. Chicago scored big getting 5 runs off him
in 2 and 1/3 innings.
Menechino said, 'It was just all timing. I had pretty good rhythm at the plate
tonight. You've got to take advantage of mistakes when you can. A couple
pitches were definitely up a little bit - right in my zone.'
